Blogging

Okay one day I will get back in the groove of things, but with our schedules changing a bit around here the last couple of months it has been a bit hard. I find I don't have a lot of time to play on the computer as much. So my blog is going to suffer for this. I hope that no one will hate me for this. :)

I will be posting hopefully the family pictures this week.

Super Saturday

Well yesterday was Super Saturday for my ward Enrichment. I didn't sign up to do anything. But I remember seeing that they were going to be making Ruffled Skirts. I wasn't sure if I would be able to pull it off, but I took some fabric with me just in case. I sure did do my best and I was glad that I did try because the finished product turned out very nicely. I will be the first to tell you that I am not a crafty person and I try and get everyone else to sew for me. But this time I did it.

I did switch things up on the red skirt, but both ways you do it they are so stinking cute!!

I brought them home and put them on Sarah right away and she looked adorable in them. I didn't get any pictures of that, but I will another day.

So if you want to make these cute Ruffled Skirts go and take a look. I browsed the rest of the site and there are some other cute ideas.
Well I like going to little activities that we can do crafts, but that doesn't always mean that I will do them on my own at home. I do my best when I am there, and things will generally turn out very well done. So maybe one of these days the crafting bone will come back around and hit me.

New Glasses

Zach has recently gotten new glasses...I personally think he looks really good in these new glasses. However, he begs to differ most days. But I guess my vote wins because I am the one that looks at him the most. Well here are a couple pictures of him with his new glasses.

See I think you will agree...he looks pretty good in his new glasses!!!

A bit BEHIND!!

Okay so I have been a bit busy this month, so I haven't even been able to sign onto my blog at all!!! I feel a bit overwhelmed at the present moment with everything that has been happening as well as what is on my brain. So there won't be much to say tonight, but I wanted to post the latest and greatest of our little Sarah who is growing up to be not so little anymore.

Sarah was trying to save her baby at the same time, she wasn't sure if she wanted to.

But in the end she saved the baby.

Sarah with Zach's new glasses...she is fascinated by the glasses.

I know I can fit into this box...I know I can...I know I can...YUP YUP I sure can.

Shortly after this she fell backwards out of the box :)

I got this hat while on my mission in DETROIT from an investigator...Yeah it is a fun hat and I like to wear it when I am being goofy. But Sarah found it and she has enjoyed it ever since that time.

Here she is in the darn baby doll stroller...she thinks that it actually her stroller. Gotta LOVE kids!!!

Mom's Mission Call

Well my Mom got her latest mission call this Thursday. It was very exciting, my sister Rindee text me about 11:30 am and said we have a mission call we are going to be opening at 8:00 pm. Do you know how long of a wait that was...oh my heck I had the hardest time making it through the day. But when my Mom called and said okay call back in 5 minutes....oh that was bad. Now if you know my family there are 5 girls and we all live somewhere different. So I had my sister Mica conferenced in when I called my Mom back. Then everyone else was on speaker and she opened the envelope...mmmmm...Where is she going??? Well she is going to the Los Angeles California Family History Support Center. She is to report to the MTC on September 21st. Yes this is only a week away and it was a shocker, so she has been rushing around trying to get everything ready to go.
However, she was in Utah this weekend so she called me this morning and asked if she could come to church with us. I was really excited because it will be the last time I see her for some time, well except next weekend that is, but she took the time to do that and it made me really happy and made me feel really special today. I love my Mom and am grateful that I have her!! Congrats Mom!!!

Sunday's

Okay so I am not the best at Sunday stuff, but I really try hard to make every effort to go to Church. However, I know there are those Sunday's where my mind and body don't want to make that effort. I am having one of those Sunday's. I keep thinking if you would have gone then you might have felt better....but (there is always a big but he he he) I just can't do it today. So I am sitting here at my computer while Sarah takes a nap. I know the peace in the house won't last too much longer. Sarah is getting another tooth and is cranky and that is no fun for all of us. So I think between trying to keep her happy and me happy at the same time, I have failed and didn't go to Church today. I can only hope that next Sunday goes better than this Sunday :)...Wish me luck.

A Day at the Park

Okay so I don't exactly remember the day that we went to the park. I do know that it was within the last month. I have been working a lot of overtime on the weekends so I haven't had much time to go to the park with Sarah and Zach. But I think this was one of the saturdays that I didn't work the overtime. We had a lot of fun and got some great pictures.

She was trying to get to me and the camera, she never wants anything more than when we have the camera out. She loves electronics so it never fails when we pull the camera out.

I really like her eyes and they light up whenever she is happy and having fun.

Sarah and Daddy taking a break and watching the other kids playing.

XBOX with Daddy

So Sarah loves to sit and play the XBOX with her Daddy. So much so that now whenever we put even a DVD in she is the one that pushes the buttons to start the movie, stop, and pause. Of course Zach has the controller that actually does that, as we know kids will always push to many buttons whenever they can.

Sarah and Daddy snuggling together while playing the XBOX.

Whenever we ask her to smile she never wants to with or without the pacifier.

Found Some Old Pictures

So these are a few months old, but I had to share them as we just got the pictures from the camera. These pictures were taken in Idaho Falls near the Idaho Falls Temple. We had gone up there to get Sarah after I had been gone a week to New Orleans for training. We spent some time there feeding the geese and walking the paths there. I didn't realize that I could miss someone so much as when I was gone from Sarah for an entire week. I couldn't even wait to meet my Mom halfway between Layton and Idaho Falls that we drove up there first think in the morning.

MEGA BLOKS

As promised pictures of Sarah playing with her MEGA BLOKS...okay so we all participated in building the tower this time. Either way we all had fun playing with the MEGA BLOKS. I know that I would recommend these to anyone with kids, they are fun and she absolutely loves them.

This was the start of our block building this night, and so she was all smiles when we began.

I really love this picture because I was off to her side and she was looking at me when Zach was taking the picture. I love when she does this look, because it I know that she is going to do something that we don't want her to.

I need to get Sarah to stop moving so much when we take pictures :). Sorry for the blurry pictures :(

FUN FUN FUN WEEK

So we have had some fun this week, so here are the latest pictures from the past week. Sarah is becoming such a care taker that she was trying to give some of her milk to her bear Ariel. So it was fun to watch her be so gentle and loving with the small bear. I am hoping that someday when we have another one that she is like this at that time too.

Giving kisses to Ariel after feeding her.

So she likes to do this when she gets a hold of 2 pacifiers all the time. I think I have posted something like this before. Either way it is still cute...but...

Zach decided to give her one more and you can see what she did then. Yup she got three in her mouth. That didn't last too long, but she had fun doing that while we laughed and took pictures.

Last but not least...Grandma Gibson has a summer reading program that she has done since I was just a kid. Now she does it for all of her grand kids which is exciting. She gives 1 cent for each page they read and 2 cents for each page of scriptures they read. Well Sarah got $25.00 this year so we took her to Toys-R-Us to get something for her to play with. Well while we were there we found a small skateboard and so Zach had her on that. Sorry the picture is a bit blurry, but it was still cute. In the end we all picked out a bag of MEGA BLOCKS and she has had them out everyday since then. I will get a picture of that soon posted, so Grandma Gibson can check that out as well.

What Is a Man?

Here is a little something from Zach...

A man carries cash. A man looks out for those around him -- woman, friend, stranger. A man can cook eggs. A man can always find something good to watch on television. A man makes things -- a rock wall, a table, the tuition money. Or he rebuilds -- engines, watches, fortunes. He passes along expertise, one man to the next. Know-how survives him. A man fantasizes that kung fu lives deep inside him somewhere. A man is good at his job. Not his work, not his avocation, not his hobby. Not his career. His job. It doesn't matter what his job is, because if a man doesn't like his job, he gets a new one.
A man can speak to dogs.
A man listens, and that's how he argues. He crafts opinions. He can pound the table, take the floor. It's not that he must. It's that he can.
A man can look you up and down and figure some things out. Before you say a word, he makes you. From your suitcase, from your watch, from your posture. A man infers.
A man owns up. That's why Mark McGwire is not a man. A man grasps his mistakes. He lays claim to who he is, and what he was, whether he likes them or not.
Some mistakes, though, he lets pass if no one notices. Like dropping the steak in the dirt.
A man can tell you he was wrong. That he did wrong. That he planned to. He can tell you when he is lost. He can apologize, even if sometimes it's just to put an end to the bickering.
A man does not wither at the thought of dancing. But it is generally to be avoided.
Style -- a man has that. No matter how eccentric that style is, it is uncontrived. It's a set of rules.
A man loves the human body, the revelation of nakedness. He loves the sight of the pale bosom, the physics of the human skeleton, the alternating current of the flesh. He is thrilled by the wrist and the sight of a bare shoulder. He likes the crease of a bent knee.
Maybe he never has, and maybe he never will, but a man figures he can knock someone, somewhere, on his bottom.
A man doesn't point out that he did the dishes.
A man knows how to ridicule.
A man gets the door. Without thinking.
He stops traffic when he must.
A man knows how to lose an afternoon. Playing Grand Theft Auto, driving aimlessly, shooting pool.
He knows how to lose a month, also.
A man welcomes the coming of age. It frees him. It allows him to assume the upper hand and teaches him when to step aside.
He understands the basic mechanics of the planet. Or he can close one eye, look up at the sun, and tell you what time of day it is. Or where north is. He can tell you where you might find something to eat or where the fish run. He understands electricity or the internal-combustion engine, the mechanics of flight or how to figure a pitcher's ERA.
A man does not know everything. He doesn't try. He likes what other men know.
A man knows his tools and how to use them -- just the ones he needs. Knows which saw is for what, how to find the stud, when to use galvanized nails.
A miter saw, incidentally, is the kind that sits on a table, has a circular blade, and is used for cutting at precise angles. Very satisfying saw.
He does not rely on rationalizations or explanations. He doesn't winnow, winnow, winnow until truths can be humbly categorized, or intellectualized, until behavior can be written off with an explanation. He doesn't see himself lost in some great maw of humanity, some grand sweep. That's the liberal thread; it's why men won't line up as liberals.
A man resists formulations, questions belief, embraces ambiguity without making a fetish out of it. A man revisits his beliefs. Continually. That's why men won't forever line up with conservatives, either.
A man is comfortable being alone. Loves being alone, actually. He sleeps.
Or he stands watch. He interrupts trouble. This is the state policeman. This is the poet. Men, both of them.
A man loves driving alone most of all.
A man watches. Sometimes he goes and sits at an auction knowing he won't spend a dime, witnessing the temptation and the maneuvering of others. Sometimes he stands on the street corner watching stuff. This is not about quietude so much as collection. It is not about meditation so much as considering. A man refracts his vision and gains acuity. This serves him in every way. No one taught him this -- to be quiet, to cipher, to watch. In this way, in these moments, the man is like a zoo animal: both captive and free. You cannot take your eyes off a man when he is like that. You shouldn't. Who knows what he is thinking, who he is, or what he will do next.

Memories

So I am sitting here loading CD's to my iTunes so that I have stuff to listen to while working or just doing about anything. I realized as I was doing this that the only ones that I am loading right now are Chris LeDoux. If you know me well then you know that I am a huge Chris LeDoux fan. I went to many concerts with friends and family. I spent nights out on sidewalks to get a wristband so that I could later get tickets that would put me right up front. I sometimes miss those days and think of them and smile. There was one year for my birthday that my Dad took me all the way to Nampa Idaho from Roy Utah to see Chris LeDoux. That was one of the best birthday's ever. Not only did I get to see the one person I loved in concert, but I got to spend that entire day with the most amazing Dad ever!!
The first ever Chris LeDoux concert I went to was when I was in Junior High School. I went with my sister Rindee and it was so much fun. From that time on I was hooked and no one was going to shake me from loving Chris LeDoux. :)
One more story...I went to Vegas one year with a group of friends. The driver got a speeding ticket on the way down there and we even tried to get Chris to sign it, but he wasn't feeling well after the concert. However, we did meet his son which was really funny.
All those Chris LeDoux fans out there will always miss him!!

New Toy

Well I know that we are supposed to be saving our money and all that jazz, and we have been doing really good. I can tell you I have 2 bills paid off as of right now and we have our emergency fund (Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University). Well we did splurge a bit with some money we had. Both mine and Zach's computers are well on their way to the grave. My laptop of course had one foot in the grave and it was not nice at all. I had gotten the poor thing back in 2002 or 2003 so yeah I was lucky that it was still ticking at all. We have had to replace some parts on Zach's as well, but he keeps his up and going because he is the computer geek at our house.

Well anyhow, we ended up getting a new computer for me and it is awesome...we got a killer deal at Office Max so I was way excited. I haven't had much of anytime to get on it and play as much as I would have liked to, but I have been a busy gal this past week. I am hoping that I get to use it more often and blog a bit more than I have in the past. As well as to play on all the other social networking sights that I visit often.

Hopefully I will get some good use out of this computer. I know that Sarah already loves to sit at it and play. Zach puts her little Tinker Bell chair up on the glider rocker and has pushed her up to the counter where we have the computers and she just types away.

Thursday

Well I feel like I haven't checked out the blogging world for some time. Well that is due to the fact that I have been stuck in a book for the past couple of weeks. Yes I didn't think I could get sucked in by the "Twilight" series, but I did and I have had to read it every chance I get. But I am on the 4th book "Breaking Dawn" which is a good sign that I should be done very soon. Hopefully my life will get back to the busy days of just being with my family. My husband has been saying are we going to loose you to the book tonight?? So as soon as I am done I will be back to checking on everything.

Happy 24th

Well here I sit at work once again on the 24th of July. Yes since it is not a federal holiday I do have to work, but of course I didn't schedule the day off either so that is partly my fault. But anyhow, it is going to be a pretty slow day here because everyone else scheduled the day off.

So I have been doing a bunch of stuff on the computer all morning here in the Union Office. That is mostly because it is really quiet and so no one has come into the office to talk about their issues. So wish me luck that I won't go insane with boredom today while everyone else is out having a fun day. :)

Our little Mechanic

Well this past weekend we had a bit of a hoopla with our truck breaking down. First it was the power steering pump on Thursday, the water pump on Friday, and finally the radiator on Sunday. But thanks to a great cousin who is a great mechanic we got it all taken care of and I am so grateful to him!!

While Matt was fixing the truck at our house on Sunday (yes I know it was the Sabbath) Sarah really wanted to help with the repairs. So she would squat down and babble to Matt while he was working as well as she would hand him tools every now and again. Well towards the end of the day, Matt was almost finished I let her outside one last time, as we had been out there off and on for most of the day, and she was just in her diaper. Well she couldn't stay away from the tools. Now this made me so happy as I love tools, and to play with tools. So I got a few pictures of her with the tools.

Yes this Momma couldn't have been prouder of her little girl!! GO SARAH!!

Birthday Fun

Okay so here are some pictures from my awesome Birthday. Zach treated me to a day of fun, which included him and Sarah of course. First we went to the Gateway and had a wonderful lunch, yummy, yummy. I prefer not to have the picture of me with the big fish hat on...thank goodness Zach is the only one that has access to that one. But our next stop after lunch was Build-A-Bear, I have never, ever been there and I had told him that numerous times. So guess what he ended up getting both me and Sarah one. Of course I got a bunny that was just as cute as a bear. My bunny is named Honey and Sarah's bear is named Ariel.

Of course you also have Ranger the turtle from The Living Planet aquarium, and he belongs to Zach & Sarah.

Our next stop was the Aquarium of course and I had so much fun there as well. Many of the things there I hadn't ever seen before so it was a real treat.
. Yes my first time ever to pet a sting ray, even though the water was up past my elbow it was really neat to do.

Okay so this was the first time I ever saw an Octopus and I about had a heart attach because I walked around the corner and there it was...oh my heck it was huge. I know that you can't see it all to well in the photo, but I wanted to share anyhow.

Sarah really enjoyed all the different fish as well, so it was fun to watch her reaction to some of the fish we saw.
This thing was almost bigger than Sarah...ooooohhhh my heck. But either way we had a blast and enjoyed every minute of the day!!!
